Ingredients

2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled and chopped)

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)

Cooking spray or oil for greasing

Instructions

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes.

In a sizable mixing bowl, mix together the chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Gently stir to ensure the apples are well coated. Set aside to let the flavors combine.

In a separate bowl, mix the rolled oats, flour, melted butter, vanilla extract, and chopped nuts if using. Stir until you achieve a crumbly consistency.

Scoop small amounts of the apple mixture and shape them into bites, roughly the size of a golf ball. Carefully roll each bite in the oat mixture to fully coat.

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with a small amount of oil to avoid sticking.

Arrange the apple crisp bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching for optimal cooking. You might need to do this in batches.

Cook in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, or until the bites turn golden brown and the apples become soft, shaking the basket midway through for even cooking.

Once finished, gently take the bites out of the basket and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
