Ingredients

4 large bell peppers (any color you prefer)

1 cup cooked and seasoned ground beef or ground turkey

1 cup pizza sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1/2 cup diced pepperoni or your favorite pizza toppings (like mushrooms, olives, or green peppers)

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Air Fryer: Start by setting your air fryer to 360°F (180°C) and allow it to preheat for about 5 minutes while you prepare the peppers.

Prepare the Peppers: Carefully slice the tops off each bell pepper and remove the seeds and membranes inside. Rinse the peppers under cold water to clean them and pat them dry with a paper towel. Set them aside on a clean surface.

Create the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef or turkey, pizza sauce, half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, diced pepperoni (or other toppings), garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

Stuff the Peppers: Take the prepared bell peppers and fill each one generously with the pizza filling. Press down gently to ensure the filling is compact. Once filled, sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top of each stuffed pepper.

Air Fry the Peppers: Carefully place the stuffed peppers upright in the air fryer basket. If they don't fit standing, lay them on their sides. Air fry the peppers for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and melts beautifully, and the peppers are fork-tender.

Garnish and Serve: When the cooking time is up, use tongs to remove the stuffed peppers from the air fryer. Allow them to cool for a minute before garnishing with fresh basil leaves, if desired. Serve hot and delight in the cheesy goodness of your pizza stuffed peppers!
