Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Optional: Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and heat it over medium heat until shimmering.

Brown the Beef: Introduce the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart using a spatula as it cooks. Allow it to brown for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. If there is any excess fat, carefully drain it off.

Sauté Aromatics: Add the diced onion to the skillet, stirring it into the beef. Cook, stirring frequently, until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Then, mix in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

Add Broccoli: Toss the broccoli florets into the skillet, ensuring they are evenly distributed. Sauté for about 3 minutes until the broccoli begins to soften but still retains some crispness.

Mix in Liquids: Pour in the beef broth, followed by the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle the mixture with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together to blend the flavors.

Incorporate Rice: Gently fold in the cooked rice until it is evenly combined with the beef and broccoli mixture. Increase the heat slightly and let it simmer gently for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Melt the Cheese: Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture. Gently fold the cheese into the hot mixture until it is fully melted and well incorporated.

Serve: For a fresh touch, garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve this delicious one-pan dish hot directly from the skillet for a hearty meal.
